INTRODUCTION

Force

Force is an external agent capable of changing state of rest ,state of motion ,shape of object and direction of the moving object.

Types

There are different types of force existing in nature.

Gravitational force

Nuclear force

Electro static force

Frictional force

These are some of the forces.among this forces gravitational force is the weakest force and nuclear force is the strongest.

CONTACT AND NON CONTACT FORCE

Force is divided into contact and non contact force based on the involvement of contact between objects.

Push or pull is an example for contact forces.
When a man pushing a box, there is contact between hand and that object. Same cases can be seen in pulling a body also.

Friction

Friction is an opposing force acting between two surfaces. Two types of friction are seen. They are moving friction and static friction. If friction is acting between two moving bodies then it is called moving friction or kinetic friction

Gravitational force is the attraction of earth to a body. When a body is thrown upward,it will gradually fall on earth. This attraction is contactless.

Electrostatic forces are generated when charged species come together. Like charges repel and opposite charges attracts. Here also there is no contact between the two objects.

Magnetic force is also an example for non contact forces.

CONCLUSION

On the basis of contact there are two types of force existing in nature; they are contact and non contact forces.
